Hair is Dead

This illustration is about hair having life of it's own, what the artist depicts as her own vision of surreality. To me it's an illustration that talks about having controlled speech which in turn seems to be hindering a profound need for freedom of expressing creatively to produce harmonious art that is one with nature. Notice the blank horror reflected in the eyes of the girl on the left. And her red nose that may have been caused of repressed anger. Art is always political. Life is always a paradox. I may be feeling stifled.

Adarna Cafe

I have read about this Adarna Cafe, once again, online in one of the foodie blogs i frequent. It's an interesting place to go to. An old house from the Spanish era that has been converted into a dining place. I remember that i have dined at the same place but it was a different restaurant back then, probably 4 or 5 years ago. Dining at Adarna Cafe is an experience of something more than dining alone. The interiors and the rich history  of the old house with an added feel of vintage nostalgia with the old jukebox and items from different circa heightens one's pleasure of the senses.

All the dishes are from different family heirloom recipes that has been handed down from generations and kept preserved and we are now privileged to savor and experience.

The waiters are all enthusiastic in showing diners around the house for all kinds of mementos. Overall, it's worth a visit at least once just for the experience. Those who are fond of history will definitely enjoy. Just a tip though, stick to dishes that is most familiar to you. Have tried more exotic dishes just to be a bit adventurous but have been left wanting to eat at the next Mc Donald's. But Adarna is definitely worth a visit!!

Sakae Sushi

My friends and i have been wanting to try out this new place in SM North which i read about online. They had this ledge at a counter that goes round and round serving different types of sushi. They also serve dishes ala-carte but we wanted to try out the eat all you can sushi and it's what we came for. It costs Php399 per person. The dishes are all color coded depending on their prices if you wanna order ala-carte.

Red Plate is Php99.00
Green Plate is Php79.00
Yellow Plate is Php59.00
Purple Plate is Php39.00

Of course all of us decided to stuff ourselves crazy with all the interesting sushi dishes coming out of the conveyor belt for the sushi chefs preparing all these yummies. I am not adventurous at all when it comes to food. I must say i will never eat an urchin in my life. But still, we ate a lot.

It think we had more than 20 plates between the 3 of us. Haha!!!

D&G Summer

Reminds me of my childhood days when I would browse through magazines and see pretty much this styling all over the place. Go gaga over n-o-s-t-a-l-g-i-a.

Banana Leaf

Dinner at Banana Leaf in Trinoma with my friend Gem. It's my first time here, all the dishes we tried had something that reminds me of Indian Cuisine. It was a something different from what i would normally choose. Interesting enough to try again. :)
