London and The Big Ben

London remains to be one of my most favorite places. Going through my old friendster pics, I came across this picture that I took in one of my trips (back in 2007). Simply love.

This picture is in front of the Buckingham Palace. I still had my curly hair and my favorite purple shirt and purple glasses from optical 88.

This is The Big Ben

This is in Piccadilly Circus. I remember that the sweater I was wearing I borrowed from Phines.

This city will remain to be on top of my list. Regent street is the best. Love. Love. Love.

Holidays and Holy Days

What does a holiday these days mean really? It has been a habit to constantly wait for Christmas and Holy Week and Araw ng Kagitingan and Rizal Day and all those days that mean i will not be required to go somewhere that will restrain me and my natural flair for spontaneity ever since I was a child. All those days when I would just lounge around the house devouring books, take a much wanted vacation in the province, go to the beach. Holidays has always been made up of happy happy child hood memories that just spills over sometimes that it engulfs me with a fond longing for those days that has gone to pass but oftentimes lay in the deep recess of my subconscious, sleeping and unnoticed. These days, i have short of forgotten really what it is that all these holidays stand for. Whether it's to pay respect to a dead hero, give thanks to all our blessings, society has really changed for the worse. It is a challenge for everyone to make the next generation understand that.Hopefully.

Doodles on white cotton cloth using regular black ballpoint pen and green felt fine tip marker from my Holy Week. Inspiration: Paisley and Flora.

Having nothing to do really brings out the restless creative energy inside me that seems to just go kaput when I am faced with the daily grind of mingling with the hoi polloi. These are just a tiny part of what has occupied me during my Holy Week reprieve. Now if I can just stop wondering just how it is that no break is ever long enough to keep an unrest-full soul in a mild state of repression. I know I should be working on virtues instead.
