Now the perfect mash could really mean a lot of things for me right now, this scrumptious morsel of creamy potatoes combined with 3 types of cheeses, garlic and toasted bacon drizzled with flavorful oil from sauteed ingredients is just about all the carbs you will ever need for an entire week's work out. But you will surely be sighing in all of God's glorious creations while savoring every bite.
I only just survived a sore-throat onset when i am harassed by another one even before i can breathe easy. Just last week i had to take all these antibiotics that made my stomach so queasy i needed to go to the bathroom all day long. On my last day of the meds, i went to divisoria to breathe in all known and unknown microbes.
Of course i easily caught them all. I am officially sick and a virtual martyr (note: i never really do this, i hate getting up when i'm not feeling well, but i just really really had to). One colleague gave me this candy and it was like literally scratching my throat and clearing up my clogged nose at the same time.
I thought it was only available abroad. Am prepared to buy online or the next time I go abroad but i later found out, Mercury drugstore sells it too. This is just so super!! Chewy ginger candy made of ginger root, tapioca and i guess a little bit of sugar. It's so super. Try it.
Since i'm so into this product review moment now, i decided to give two thumbs up and a four and a half stars to Starbucks' cranberry white chocolate chip cookie (@Php55.00/pc -- make it gooey warm). It tastes like absolute heaven. Moist, chunky white chocolate chip cookie with big enough chunks of white chocolates, walnuts and bits of the good stuff --- cranberry. Paired with my hibiscus hot tea, it is quite a feast for my bland tastebuds now. I googled a couple of recipes which i hopefully wanna try in the near future. Check it out at the bottom of this post.
So now you're asking, what's with the missing half star to make five? Well it basically goes down to the fact that this is surely sticking to my butt forever. The only reason why i'm not munching on another one.
Brandied Cranberry, White
Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup of brandy (to soak the cranberries in, then saving 1 1/4 teaspoons of it for later)
1 cup of dried cranberries
1 cup (two sticks) of butter, room temperature
3/4 cup of granulated sugar
3/4 cup of lightly packed brown sugar
2 eggs, room temperature
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
1 cup of white chocolate chips
1 Put the cranberries in a wide and shallow bowl, pour in a bit of brandy. Enough so they're surrounded by it, but not drowning. Cover and place in the fridge for an hour or more. Afterwards, place a colander over a bowl and pour the cranberries and brandy through, putting the cranberries and the brandy they soaked in aside.
2 Preheat oven to 375°F. Beat the butter until light and fluffy. Add the sugars and beat again until light, fluffy and well incorporated.
3 Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and add 1 1/4 teaspoons of the brandy that the cranberries soaked in (as for the rest, I suggest popping it in a glass and topping it off a bit for yourself). Beat well until light and fluffy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl midway through to ensure even mixing.
4 Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt, then add to the mixture a bit at a time, beating until just mixed. Fold in the brandy soaked cranberries and white chocolate chips. Let chill for 15 minutes in the fridge.
5 Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (a baker's best friend) and place rounded spoonfuls down on the sheet. Bake at 375°F for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for a minute, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

I decided i needed a new lip balm because I left my bunch of war paint on my desk in the office and really didn't wanna go without looking like a ghastly apparition in the middle of a ***forsaken place at the heart of where all these "scenes" that you don't want happening seem to be happening.
So I met up with a friend and tried on a couple of stick color despite the running nose which gets more action than the combined efforts of my butt and the rickety bicycle rider in my room. I knew instantly that I would like Burt's tinted ones. I got the raisin color because rhubarb just disappears on my nearer to dark skin tone. What's so nice about it is that it has a minty feel to it that really lasts for a while. I would have loved it more if it tasted yummier but well..it's great just as it is now.
Check out the Burt's Bees webby for all their products. Both make-up and skin care line. I am planning to try next: Glow Booster!!
Frozen jeans? Anyone? For many years people have put in their 2-cents worth of whatever they can think of to anything denim. Being a denim enthusiast myself, it is not unheard of for me to go on for days, weeks or sometimes even months without washing my jeans. The idea behind it is that i would like to preserve as much as i can the authenticity of the denim fabric.
Image from net research. If this is yours please let me know and email me at firstname.lastname@example.org so i can make proper acknowledgements
Below is a video i found of one of the crazier things i have heard of about denim jeans. It might be a brilliant idea to others, far-out for some. You be the judge.
I have this yearly tradition that I've been doing for quite a while now. I collect Starbucks sticker for the planner ever since it started. I'm a sucker i know. But it has brought me many good memories over the past few years and I intend to keep on doing it. Anyways, while i was collecting the stuff, i got this random receipt where you need to go to their website, answer a bunch of questions then you get a free gift in return. I got one yesterday. I happily answered the questions immediately and put the receipt with the code provided after I have finished answering the survey inside my bag ready for my next visit. Then just this afternoon, i absent mindedly cleaned up scraps of paper and a few wrappers in my bag and when i looked for the receipt again, it's gone. I didn't wanna feel bad so i just chalked it up to my bag of "experience" and swore to let it pass. Then what do I know, as I was waiting for my receipt during another Starbucks visit, i got another random "you're-a-lucky-one!!" receipt for another freebie. How cool is that??
So now i'm happily sipping my mint tea and no, i'm not loosing this one again. Could this mean things are looking up?
i have a tiny bit of revelation that spurred an idea that copped out of my head. it's been said, written, made into film, made into a book, made into a song, an artwork, whatever, that happiness is a choice. well, me, i know this phrase like the back of my hand but it being the back of my hand, i never really payed attention.
just during the start of this week which was the eid (i'm not sure what this means, some festival for the middle world as i read on twitter --- my constant source of knowledge these days) while on my way to work with my carpool friends all with long faces because we needed to go to work despite the fact that the rest of the country and maybe half the world is still at home sleeping their asses of because it was declared a holiday, i suddenly get this crazy idea.
i decided that i would choose to be happy. just for spite. because i knew everybody will be dragging their feet. so i did. and guess what, i tricked myself. i pretended to be happy, i actually WAS feeling happy. all day long. then i realized just how much power the mind has. maybe i will be choosing to exercise this power a bit more often now.
So do we actually care about others in our search for this elusive happiness that becomes more and more harder to come by? To be truthful, be wise. We probably care too much sometimes which should not be the case. Try not to sometimes.
